At Drinkard Engineering, we strongly advocate the use of existing buildings to fill the needs of owners searching for new facilities. We consider it a real pleasure to bring old buildings back to their former glory, with the added benefit of state-of-the-art building systems that will support the building’s operations efficiently for years.
Most often on historic renovation projects, owners ask us to install modern HVAC systems for their buildings. However, whenever possible, we try to adhere to the original ventilation designs. These original designs most often include some form of heating system without mechanical air conditioning. We prefer to refurbish old natural or
forced ventilation systems in conjunction with the installation of new, high-efficiency mechanical cooling systems to give the occupant the option of whether to mechanically cool or naturally ventilate the building.
